ABOUT
The music of Dr. Colin Sprigg, composer and CEO of the Diamond Youth Symphony Orchestra, has been awarded many times through his film and scores. His involvement as the President / CEO of the Diamond Youth Symphony has impacted the youth of the greater Los Angeles County area in support of classical music repertoire and introducing young people music composition. Colin's compositions for orchestra have been performed by college and youth ensembles in Southern California. Colin was selected to appear as one of 10 composers to attend the 2020 Sofia Symphonic Summit in Sofia, Bulgaria, August 2020 where his Mulholland Suite for Orchestra would be performed by the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Nayden Torodov. Colin Sprigg most recent work is the composition of the eight movement symphony called The Mulholland Suite. The music tells the story of William Mulholland, one of the most prominent citizens within the history of Los Angeles. Mulholland was an engineer who is credited with the creation of the Los Angeles Aquaduct responsible for the water that allows for today's Los Angeles. Sprigg says, "This symphonic work is important. While everyone has heard the name Mulholland, they don't know the story of Shakespearean proportions behind the man himself. Anyone who loves LA should know his story, because it's our story. Currently, Colin is singularly focused on seeing his symphonic work completed, taken on by a world class symphony. FULL BIOGRAPHY |
